How to Control Incandescent Lamps via DMX?

1 Minute Read
An incandescent bulb wired to a DMX dimmer, showcasing how traditional lighting can be integrated into a digital lighting system for precise brightness control

Unlike LED stage lights, incandescent and halogen lamps do not have built-in DMX decoders. To control their brightness via DMX, special dimmer units are required to convert the DMX signal into an analog signal, which adjusts the power supplied to the lamp.

Solution

Using dimmer units compatible with both DMX and the specific lamps being used. For example, DimGate DIN allows you to control four analog lines (0-10V/1-10V) via the DMX 512 protocol.
